FileUltimate v10.5.0
Version 10.5.0 - September 25, 2026
-
Improved: Document Viewer:
-
Changed: PdfOutputOptions properties
This type change will trigger a cache migration so be patient when you first open a document:
With this version, DocumentCache will migrate this change automatically for you, it will scan the cache folder,
update all .json cache info files, regenerate cache keys (due to json serialization change)
and rename cache files to match the new cache keys.
This migration will be run on first access to the cache, it can take few seconds to complete (may take longer for cloud folders).
You can check the details and results of the migration in CacheMigrate.log in cache folder. -
Improved: Reduced size of GleamTech.DocumentUltimate.dll to decrease memory footprint and improve loading time.
-
Improved: Stability and performance of Portable formats.
-
Improved: When converting image formats (including Dicom, Cad) to PDF, ensure image is scaled to A4 portrait or landscape page depending on aspect ratio,
then resize the page to the resulting image dimensions to avoid any vertical or horizontal whitespace/margins. -
Improved: Re-enabled Jpeg2000 image to PDF conversion.
-
Improved: Better SVG to PDF conversion.
-
Improved: Reduce memory usage, conversion time and output file size for TIFF to PDF conversions (e.g. 100 pages TIFF file).
Using largest frame size was not efficient, i.e. was slow and consumed too much memory,
so just use the size of the first frame as max.
This further optimizes performance improvements that was first done in v7.6.6.
-
-
Improved: Redesigned online and offline docs. Dropped legacy .chm file and provided offline site docs with same
search capability as online docs, which can be directly opened with a browser.
Included example projects:
- ASP.NET Core (C#) - Visual Studio 2022+ (17.8+)
- ASP.NET Core on .NET Framework (C#)- Visual Studio 2017+
- ASP.NET MVC (C#) - Visual Studio 2015+

- ASP.NET WebForms (VB) - Visual Studio 2015+
FileUltimate v10.4.0
Version 10.4.0 - August 18, 2026
-
Improved: Vastly improved startup performance:
-
Optimized internal AssemblyResolver, it now avoids pre-extracting native DLLs for modern .NET and subscribes
toAssemblyLoadContext.Default.ResolvingUnmanagedDllevent to extract a native DLL only when it's requested.
This improves the cold-startup time of the host app for modern .NET.
.NET Framework still needs to pre-extract native DLLs as it does not have that event but other optimizations
in AssemblyResolver still improves that runtime.
AssemblyResolver.log now includes more details about resolved assemblies and has more readable/neat text structure. -
Minimized reflection type scanning in GleamTech assemblies to prevent early loading of dependency assemblies.
-
Considerably reduced size of GleamTech DLLs to decrease memory footprint and improve loading time.
(further reducing will be done in next versions by minimizing dependencies)
-
-
Improved: Upgraded
AspNetCoreCSexample projects of all products fromnet6.0tonet8.0(Visual Studio 2022+ (17.8+)).
UpdatedGetting Starteddocs and made code samples up-to date. -
Changed: Removed implicit operators for casting to/from other libraries (e.g. ImageSharp, SkiaSharp),
fromImage,Color,FontandRectangleclasses inGleamTech.Drawingnamespace,
and made them extension methods in another class to prevent reflection method scanning to unnecessarily probe assemblies.
Also shortened the names of the conversion methods:- ToGleamTechDrawingImage() -> ToGleamTechImage()
- ToSystemDrawingBitmap() -> ToSystemBitmap()
- ToSystemDrawingImage -> ToSystemImage()
- ToSkiaSharpBitmap -> ToSkiaBitmap()
- ToSkiaSharpBitmap -> ToSkiaBitmap()
Included example projects:
- ASP.NET Core (C#) - Visual Studio 2022+ (17.8+)
- ASP.NET Core on .NET Framework (C#)- Visual Studio 2017+
- ASP.NET MVC (C#) - Visual Studio 2015+

- ASP.NET WebForms (VB) - Visual Studio 2015+
FileUltimate v10.2.5
Version 10.2.5 - June 29, 2026
- Improved: Document Viewer:
-
Fixed:
Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.error when viewing certain PDF documents.
For example, some PDF/UA documents (e.g. canva produced PDFs) caused this error. -
Fixed: When viewing/converting a email .msg file with TNEF attachments (winmail.dat), some attachments were not visible.
For example .pdf attachment was visible but .tiff attachment was not because .tiff was wrongly considered an inline attachment
(although it was not referenced inside html body). -
Fixed: When viewing/converting a .html file (or an email format), tables defined with
table-layout: fixedlost column widths
so the table was rendered unexpectedly (e.g. some columns were too narrow).
-

FileUltimate v10.1.0
Version 10.1.0 - April 24, 2026
-
Fixed: The fix back in
Version 9.5.5 - April 11, 2025for parsingRefererhttp header was not sufficient.
This warning was occasionally recorded in server's Event Log:
This operation is not supported for a relative URI. -
Improved: Ensured stability of cookieless session feature for iframe with a cross-domain URL.
This feature (GleamTechWebConfiguration.AutoCookielessSessionEnabled) was first added inVersion 7.8.1 - November 23, 2020. -
Added:
GleamTechWebConfiguration.PathBaseForSessionEnabledproperty that specifies whether
to use request PathBase (correct cased application virtual path) for session cookie and not default path/.
The default value istrueso it's active by default. The problem with ASP.NET Core session is, if for example you have 2 app instances on the same domain:
- First visit to
/MyApp1, the session cookie is created and set (with cookie path/). - Then visit to
/MyApp2, the session cookie exists (with cookie path/)
but this app cannot decrypt it because their key ring is not shared.
This causes unnecessaryError unprotecting the session cookiewarnings in server's Event Log.
A new session cookie is still created but the problem is the logging inCookieProtection.Unprotect()on exception.
In ASP.NET classic, session cookie path also defaults to
/and not to the application virtual path,
though this does not cause a warning/error, but you get a new empty session with the existing session cookie. So, the best solution is to use correct cased application virtual path as session cookie path when available
and not the default path/, to isolate session of all app instances on the same domain, for example:ApplicationVirtualPath: /DocumentUltimate/AspNetWebFormsCS ? (IIS canonical casing) Request.Path: /documentultimate/aspNetWebFormsCS/Page.aspx ? (actual request casing) PathBase (correct cased): /documentultimate/aspNetWebFormsCSCookie paths are case-sensitive so when not using the default path
/,
we ensure PathBase used for cookie path is correct cased (cased same as the one user typed in address bar). However, if you want to share the session cookie across all app instances on the same domain,
set this tofalse(default ASP.NET Session behavior). - First visit to
-
Improved: Normally, to have Session cookie work properly for an ASP.NET Core app hosted in IIS,
"Load User Profile" property should be set to true for application pool used for that app.
However for convenience, we will now useKeyssubfolder underGleamTechConfiguration.TemporaryFolder
by default inAddGleamTech()ifKeyManagementOptions.XmlRepositoryis not explicitly set
and if app is not hosted in Azure Apps.
This is because if keys can not be persisted to a writable directory, they are stored in-memory
and when the process shuts down (or application pool is recycled), all generated keys are lost.
As a result, these unnecessary warnings are recorded in server's Event Log:No XML encryptor configured. Key {guid} may be persisted to storage in unencrypted form. Neither user profile nor HKLM registry available. Using an ephemeral key repository. Protected data will be unavailable when application exits. Using an in-memory repository. Keys will not be persisted to storage. The antiforgery token could not be decrypted. Error unprotecting the session cookie. The key {guid} was not found in the key ring. This way even if "Load User Profile" property is set to false, we will fix default ASP.NET behavior
and avoid warnings spamming server's Event Log.
Included example projects:
- ASP.NET Core (C#) - Visual Studio 2019+
- ASP.NET Core on .NET Framework (C#)- Visual Studio 2017+
- ASP.NET MVC (C#) - Visual Studio 2015+
- ASP.NET MVC (VB) - Visual Studio 2015+
- ASP.NET WebForms (C#) - Visual Studio 2015+

or whentoolbarAtBottomoption was used.
-
-
Improved: When
DebugModeproperty set to true, do not display alert dialog
for "same and repeating" global unhandled errors and unhandled promise rejections in browser window.
