I'm Aarav Patel, a 13-year-old student, competitive chess player, and self-taught programmer. I get genuinely excited about advanced Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Geography. In the future I want to work as a Software Engineer or a Quantum Scientist—mostly because messing around with qubits and quantum superposition sounds incredibly fun.
Most of my code is just the result of raw vibe-coding, troubleshooting on the fly, and getting lost in late-night YouTube rabbit holes. (Like when I copied a Brainfk Hello World routine into PowerShell to see what would happen). I regularly watch WittyAlien and GothamChess, and I even bumped into Thibault Duplessis online to talk shop about Lichess's open-source lila framework!
Positional chess is boring. I can't stand dry, slow games, where I will get rot 40 moves later so my opening repertoire focuses on creating pure chaos and sharp, double-edged lines on the board. Here is how my top 30 favorite openings actually perform based on my game data:

Quick takeaway: Going for aggressive g4 thrusts gets me a way better win percentage than settling into slow, standard setups like d4 or d4-d5 layouts!
- What I use: Python for most things, Scala when I'm experimenting, SQL via DBeaver for database schemas, JSON/YAML for configurations, and PowerShell for package management (
pip/iex-irm). - The Hardware Board: I'm planning an automated, physical chessboard driven by a Raspberry Pi (Zero W or 4). It will pull live server data over APIs, use small hidden motors to move the pieces underneath, and have built-in rules to stop illegal physical moves.
- Infinite Boards: I want to take the grid patterns I learned in Math Olympiad and use them to write chess engines that ignore standard boundaries, creating infinite matrix chess rule sets.

Like millions of players around the world, I was deeply moved by the unexpected loss of Daniel "Danya" Naroditsky. His brilliant endgame lectures, lightning-fast speed chess, and genuine kindness to everyday players completely redefined what it meant to share the game online and inspired millions before his passing on October 19, 2025, including me.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. The chess community will forever remember his humor, his unparalleled passion, and the endless inspiration he brought to the board every single day.
