MorphoSource 2 Beta Instructions
Thank you for agreeing to be a beta user for MorphoSource 2! This page contains some simple instructions to get you up and running on MorphoSource 2. The beta website is # https://morphosource-demo.lib.duke.edu/.
When you access the beta site, this is the front page.

Head to the "Login" in the upper right corner. If you have previously created an account for MorphoSource 1 (www.morphosource.org), please login with those credentials. You will be asked to make a new password. If you don't have a MorphoSource 1 account, click "Sign Up" and follow the form instructions to create an account. If you sign up, tell Julie your account name so that she can make you a contributor (which will allow you to submit media).

This is the front page once you have logged in. Click the user icon in the top right and select Dashboard.

This is your dashboard, where you can control your user profile information and see/manage your media, teams, and projects. Clicking on "Works" on the sidebar will show you all media you control in MS2. You may also see some other miscellaneous document types, those will eventually be removed to leave only media. You can click the media icon or the hypertext to access the media show page. MS1 2D preview images will be ingested soon!

Clicking on "Collections" will show you the teams and projects you control. Talk to Julie before creating any new teams or projects, but we are open to this! Clicking the collection icon or hypertext to access the collection edit page. Currently collections are in some cases loading very slowly - this will be improved soon.

This is a Project Edit page. It displays a list of media in the project, with tabs allowing you to see the specimens and/or cultural heritage objects in the project, project details, and the members of the project. You can also see the public view of the project page using the Actions button.

In the members tab of the Project, you can control what other users have access to this project and the user role access level they have to access the project. Please read the user role descriptions to see how they function.

To start the media submission workflow, either select "New Submission" from the Dashboard Works page or the "Create New Media In Project" from the Project Edit Page. Below is the first step of the media submission process. This workflow will take you step-by-step through the process of uploading media and providing specimen/cultural heritage object information. Once you have submitted your media and have been taken to the new media show page, you may note that the media 3D preview and the automatically-characterized file object metadata are not yet present. In most cases, this is because characterizing and processing your uploaded media files will take a few minutes. If you refresh the page after a little while, these should appear. If they do not, send Julie the link to the media and she will forward it on to the team for bug-fixing.

Thank you again for volunteering to be a beta user for MorphoSource 2! Your feedback will be critical in helping us improve the platform!
