Looking at v0.130.1-sumo-0 in it seems there are still quite a few downloads from this repo. Maybe a deprecation notice should be used before completely deleting the script?

How can we verify that? script itself are one year old and no where used in our docs or product

We don't want to break user installations if they are still using the install scripts with their own tooling. Download statistics for a release can be found by using the GitHub API https://docs.github.com/en/rest/releases/releases?apiVersion=2022-11-28#get-a-single-release.
