A Pokémon save editor for Android, running PKHeX.Core natively on the device. Built for handhelds like the AYN Thor and Retroid, and right at home on a phone.
I got an AYN Thor, wanted to evolve a Kadabra, and wanted to do it right there on the handheld without setting up a trade between emulators.
That is what PocketHeX is for. The things you do most often are meant to be quick in and out, with an intuitive interface.
Opens the save files PKHeX.Core supports, every mainline generation from Red and Blue through Legends Z-A.
We do not support or condone cheating at the expense of others. Do not use significantly hacked Pokémon in battle or in trades with those who are unaware hacked Pokémon are in use.
Running on an AYN Thor.

The other thing I wanted was the official transfer experience. Carrying a team from FireRed forward through the generations the way the games let you, with those rules actually enforced.
Storage is that chain, on the handheld. It's a folder you pick, holding 999 boxes with 30 slots, storing your Pokémon safely on your device. Everything in it keeps the format it came from. Drop that FireRed team in, then open HeartGold and bring them across.
- Official routes only. A Pokémon enters a game only if PKHeX's own converter and legality analysis accept it. Nothing invents a substitute or fabricates data to force a transfer through. If the answer is no, you get told why and the Pokémon stays put. You can always use the Pokémon generation tools if you need.
- One-way transfers are flagged. When a transfer cannot be undone because no route leads back, you're told before it happens.
Not exhaustively:
- Boxes and party
- Pokémon details: stats, moves, met data, ribbons, trainer info
- Pokédex, event flags, and roamers
- Bag inventory, Mystery Gifts, and Day Care
- Trainer profile, records, money and the in-game clock
Emulator saves open directly. PocketHeX identifies a save from its contents rather than its file name, so you point it at the save file sitting in your emulator's save folder.
From a real console, PocketHeX expects save files that are not encrypted with console-specific keys. Use a save manager to get saves on and off the device, such as Checkpoint or JKSM.
Is this PKHeX? No. PKHeX is Kaphotics' desktop application for Windows. PocketHeX is a separate Android app built on PKHeX.Core, the same engine underneath, with an interface designed for a handheld.
Which devices does it run on? Android 7.0 or newer on 64-bit ARM. That covers handhelds like the AYN Thor and the Retroid line, and essentially any phone from the last decade.
Will it edit my Pokémon into something illegal? Not on its own. Storage transfers go through PKHeX's own legality analysis and are refused if they do not pass. The editor will let you set what you ask it to, and the legality report tells you where you stand.
Android API 24+ on ARM64. See docs/building.md for the
toolchain, pinned versions, and release signing.
PocketHeX is an interface wrapped around other people's hard work, and it owes them everything.
I would like to pay great respect to:
- PKHeX by Kaphotics. PKHeX.Core does the save parsing, legality analysis, and format conversion, which is to say it does the genuinely difficult part. Every hard problem in this repository was already solved there first. PocketHeX would not exist without it.
- Auto-Legality Mod and
PKHeX.Core.AutoMod, originally by Archit Date and Kaphotics, maintained in PKHeX-Plugins by santacrab2 and its contributors. - Shiny sprites from PokéSprite by Michiel Sikma and its community contributors.
- Legends: Arceus sprites from the
National Pokédex - Icon Dex
project by
pikafan2000and its many collaborators and contributors.
