Hi, I'm Edgar Mesquita 👋

Software Engineer & Entrepreneur
Porto, Portugal 🇵🇹 · born in Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷
Specialist Backend Developer at Mindera · Founder of eQuantic Tech

LinkedIn NuGet profile eQuantic on GitHub

Twenty-two years building software, sixteen of them on .NET. I design and run backends: domain modeling, CQRS, clean boundaries, and the cloud plumbing that keeps them honest in production. I started out as a web designer in 2004, which is probably why a backend engineer keeps shipping UI frameworks.

What I do

  • 🏗️ Backend architecture in C# and .NET: Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Clean Architecture, event-driven systems, and REST APIs that other teams can consume without reading the source.
  • ☁️ Cloud and platform: Azure (App Services, Container Apps, Functions, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Front Door), AWS (ECS Fargate, Lambda), Terraform, Kubernetes with GitOps (Flux) and Istio, GitHub Actions and Azure Pipelines, and observability with New Relic, Application Insights, Datadog and Grafana.
  • 🧩 Full stack when it matters: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, React, Next.js and Flutter.
  • 🤖 AI-assisted engineering: Claude Code, MCP servers and agent orchestration as everyday tools, and whole products built end to end with coding agents.
  • 🏭 Domains so far: payments and financial services, industrial IoT monitoring, travel and loyalty, insurance, governance risk and compliance, social networks, retail.

Open source: eQuantic

Since 2013 I publish .NET libraries under eQuantic Tech: over 130 packages and more than a million downloads on nuget.org, all MIT licensed. One rule runs through them: the developer writes C# and the platform's details are the library's problem.

Project What it does NuGet
eQuantic.UI Write components once in C#. On the web they compile to JavaScript and render as DOM and CSS. Natively they render through Photon, a GPU engine on Metal and Vulkan, on macOS, iOS, Android and Windows. In preview, docs at ui.equantic.tech. eQuantic.UI.Sdk
eQuantic.Core.Data Repository and unit-of-work contracts with native providers for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra and Cosmos DB, plus Entity Framework Core implementations. eQuantic.Core.Data downloads
eQuantic.Core.CQS CQRS framework: pipeline behaviors, sagas, outbox, job scheduling, source generators, and telemetry providers for OpenTelemetry, Datadog and Application Insights. eQuantic.Core.CQS downloads
eQuantic.Linq Expression trees serialized to JSON, REST query-string filters and sorting, the specification pattern, and OpenAPI documentation for all of it. eQuantic.Linq downloads
eQuantic.Core.Outcomes The Result pattern with railway-oriented composition, and integrations for ASP.NET Core and FluentValidation. eQuantic.Core.Outcomes downloads
eQuantic.Validation Structured, asynchronous validation with a Native AOT friendly source generator. eQuantic.Validation downloads
eQuantic.Mapper Source-generated object mapping. eQuantic.Mapper downloads
eQuantic.Core.Eventing Event abstractions with publishers for Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS and Azure Service Bus, and a transactional outbox. eQuantic.Core.Eventing downloads
eQuantic.IpAtlas IP geolocation from public RIR data, compiled into a compact binary dataset. eQuantic.IpAtlas downloads
eQuantic.Core Where it started in 2013: utilities, extensions and design-pattern implementations for .NET Standard 2.1 through .NET 10. eQuantic.Core downloads

Also community-maintained Cosmos DB and MongoDB providers for TickerQ.

Products

The libraries exist because these needed them.

  • eQuantic Space: a developer platform on one spine. CI/CD that runs GitHub Actions workflows as they are, on managed runners with live logs. Serverless deploy for your own apps from a repo, a Dockerfile or an image, scaling to zero on a Kubernetes you never have to see. And work management (sprints, OKRs, docs) underneath. Ships as SaaS and as a self-hosted appliance that installs, clusters, heals and updates itself from a single install.sh. TypeScript end to end: NestJS with DDD and CQRS, Next.js, and the eqs CLI compiled with Bun.
  • eQuantic Finance: multi-tenant financial management with AI for freelancers, small businesses and households, tuned to Portuguese rules: recibos verdes, IRS withholding tables, Euribor-indexed mortgages with amortization schedules, project P&L and time tracking. Receipts, invoices and payslips are read by Gemini. Next.js 16, PostgreSQL and Prisma.
  • eQuantic Pass: a zero-knowledge password manager. Flutter on every platform, a NestJS API with row-level security in PostgreSQL, and end-to-end encrypted sync. Built end to end with coding agents.
  • eQuantic Keeper: a static, end-to-end encrypted vault for development secrets and personal documents, with no server at all. Your Google Drive holds one encrypted file and your browser holds the keys.
  • eQuantic.UI and Photon: the component model and the GPU engine above, on the way out of preview.
  • CarbonLINQ: a carbon credits marketplace. NestJS with CQRS and event sourcing, a Next.js trading dashboard, PostgreSQL with PostGIS, and multi-chain tokenization.

Beyond code

  • 🍻 Volunteer organizer of Silicon Drinkabout Porto since 2019, the happy hour where founders and startup people actually talk to each other.
  • 🩺 Backend developer on Teachers 4 COVID, part of the tech4COVID19 movement in Portugal, in 2020.
  • 🏆 On the team behind the GRC Intelligence product that won the 2014 GRC Technology Innovation Award from GRC 20/20.
  • 🎨 A degree in Graphic Design from Estácio de Sá, Rio de Janeiro. The design habit never left.
