Hello,
thank you FAI developers!

I modified doc/Makefile to use language-toolkit's utilities, and prepare the I18N of fai-guide.txt
to be managed by GNU gettext tools.
Now there are files like po/fai-guide.pot, po/fr.po supporting I18N and L10N to French language.

If you do not mind, please consider merging this work.

To add support for a new language, e.g. German:

append "de" to Makefile's line "LANGUAGES = fr"
execute make potfile; make updatepo
edit the file po/de.po to translate strings extracted from fai-guide.txt
execute make translate; this will update a file fai-guide_de.txt
Now, make would output .text, .pdf and .html files for fai-guide, fai-guide_de and fai-guide_fr

The French translation has been upgraded to the current version of fai-guide; so there are no longer references to distributions like jessie or etch. The parts which smelt like automatic translations were fixed.

By the way, who was the previous author of the French translation? I should credit their work.

Salut Georges,

thanks for the update of the FAI guide in french. I'm not sure, if I like to include the translation in this way.
First, pdf, html and text output files do not belong into the git repository. They are all created from the .txt file, and that is the only file of fai-guide that goes into the git repository. It's not clear to me, from which translation file you started your improvements. Where did you fetched this original old file?

There's already a git repo for a french translation at https://github.com/CyBerNetX/fai-guide-fr.git
Did you used that?
