Juan connected the official Alegra MCP through claude.ai, so I could finally inspect every tool hands-on. Two takeaways:

  1. Definitive confirmation it's read-only. All 66 tools are get/list/search/export — no create/update/delete/void/emit/stamp anywhere. The "estrictamente de solo lectura" claim is now verified tool-by-tool, not from marketing copy.

  2. Our coverage split was wrong. My earlier analysis used a user-pasted list of 49 tools that was incomplete. The real surface (66 tools) reads almost the whole API, including groups the page had listed as alegra-cli-only: accounting (journals, cost centers, ledger), currencies, sellers, incoming payments, retentions, taxes, resolutions. Moved them to "read by both"; fixed the payments note (the MCP reads incoming and outgoing, not just outgoing).

The differentiator is unchanged and cleaner: the MCP reads broadly but writes nothing; alegra-cli reads and writes (+ emission), and still exclusively covers estimates, credit/debit notes, remissions, CFDI, recurring docs, additional charges, and webhooks.

Snapshot refreshed to v0.9.2 + the claude.ai verification method. mkdocs build --strict passes. Patch release 0.9.3.

Connected the official Alegra MCP through claude.ai and inspected every
tool: it exposes 66 read-only tools (the earlier '49' came from an
incomplete user-pasted list), covering almost the whole API. Corrected
the page's 'only in alegra-cli' list — accounting, currencies, sellers,
incoming payments, retentions, taxes, ledger categories, and resolutions
are READ by the official MCP, not CLI-only. The real difference holds:
the MCP reads broadly but writes nothing; alegra-cli reads and writes
(plus emission), and still exclusively covers estimates, credit/debit
notes, remissions, CFDI, recurring docs, additional charges, and
webhooks. EN + ES.
