Summary

  • Create new Workload Map page (v2/service_map.md) documenting two distinct map types:

    • L4 Cluster-wide Connectivity: Shows all connections cluster-wide with real-world bandwidth and throughput metrics
    • L7 Targeted Workloads: Shows filtered workloads with protocol-based L7 interactions (HTTP, DNS, gRPC, etc.)
  • Key documentation additions:

    • Map type selection from Settings dialog
    • Display options (grouping by Namespace/Node/Pod, bandwidth settings)
    • Important distinction: L4 shows real-world metrics, L7 shows dashboard aggregations
    • Screenshots for both map types
  • Site-wide updates:

    • Renamed navigation from "Service Map" to "Workload Map"
    • Updated all references in ui.md, observability.md, traffic_investigation.md, legend_filters.md

Test plan

  • Verify Workload Map page renders with all screenshots
  • Verify navigation shows "Workload Map" linking to new page
  • Verify all cross-references work correctly

- Create new Workload Map page (v2/service_map.md) with two map types:
  - L4 Cluster-wide Connectivity: real-world bandwidth/throughput metrics
  - L7 Targeted Workloads: protocol-based map filtered by capture/display rules
- Rename navigation from "Service Map" to "Workload Map"
- Update all site references to link to new Workload Map page
- Add display options documentation (grouping, bandwidth settings)
- Add screenshots for both map types and settings dialog
- Update legend_filters.md with Workload Map terminology
