I made three suggestions, but after thinking them over I don't feel that strongly either way about them. My overall goal was to make the page less lengthy, easier to digest

@dianabarsan @jkuester, as you are top code reviewers, do you have any feedback on these guidelines? @Hareet, is the language in line with Digital Ocean's tone, to ensure we don't make this mandatory and blocking for contributions? |

Let's treat this as a living document - we can revisit it in a few months as we see how things actually unfold. If we are no longer seeing the problems the guidelines address, or if they are creating friction we don't need, we can adjust or even remove them. The world is changing fast, and we need to stay flexible. |

I used Claude.AI to review the text and ensure it is closer to the guidelines language rather than a mandatory policy.
