This repository contains the code for SurfSense
SurfSense is a guided surf forecast designed to help beginner surfers understand and confidently use marine and weather data.
Surf forecasts can be overwhelming at first. Interpreting swell height, wind direction, and tide data isn’t always intuitive and confusion can lead to disappointing sessions or even unsafe conditions. SurfSense simplifies this process by turning complex forecast data into an interactive learning experience.
Start by selecting the location where you plan to surf.
Pick the time you’re thinking of paddling out. This keeps things focused and avoids information overload.
Use the graph to understand key surf conditions. Click on info nodes to learn what each metric means.
Save the forecast before your session and rate the conditions afterward—epic or wipeout. Over time, you’ll develop a better feel for how forecast data translates into real waves.
SurfSense aims to bridge the gap between raw forecast data and real-world surf conditions—helping beginners become more confident, informed, and safe in the water.
This project is a prototype developed during a 4-week web development bootcamp at Le Wagon. As a result certain interactions or data outputs may not behave as expected. The primary focus of this project was rapid prototyping, experimentation, and learning.
