Today, I'm so pleased to announce pH7Builder, v18.1 as the latest stable release!

Why We Skipped v18.0
This release jumps directly to v18.1, skipping v18.0.0. Two years ago, we released v18.0 beta 1 and beta 2 while continuing to update v17.9. To avoid confusion between those beta releases and a new v18.0.0 stable version, we've moved straight to v18.1.
pH7Builder v18 "REVOLUTIONARY™" is a major stability and security release that addresses critical bugs affecting production systems. This release represents the culmination of comprehensive bug fixes, code quality improvements, and security enhancements.

Fixed Infinite Loop Causing Browser Crashes (#1186)
- Ajax activity tracker was creating exponential intervals
- Browsers would freeze after idle time
- Impact: CRITICAL - Users unable to use the site

Fixed CSS/JS Loading Failures (#1163)
- Gzip handler now gracefully handles file load errors
- Prevents 500 errors from cascading
- Impact: HIGH - Broken layouts and functionality
Authentication & Access
- Fixed MFA Blocked During Maintenance Mode (#1152)
- Administrators with 2FA can now access site during maintenance
- Two-factor verification page no longer blocked
- Impact: HIGH - Admin lockout prevention
Form Validation
- Fixed Registration Form Date Validation (#1177)
- HTML5 date inputs now have proper min/max format
- Birth date validation works correctly
- Impact: HIGH - New user registrations

pH7Builder v17.2.0 has just been released! Yaaay!🚀
This is great news! The new version contains so many exciting improvements and bug fixes as well as some third-party package upgrades to their new versions, so your social/dating webapp will continue to be stable and secure 👌
Quick Summary
- Upgraded Swift Mailer to Symfony Mailer.
- Updated Braintree library to newer version (compatible with newer PHP versions).
- Fixed several issues due to the recent refactoring to aim at a more modern codebase.
- Fixed some incompatibilities caused by PHP 8.1
- Cleanup/Security concern: elFinder has been deprecated and removed - #1025
- Fixed infinite redirection on user browse page when there is only one user without search criterion preselected - 619ac1b
- Prepared the built-in auto-update feature which will be finalized in pH7Builder v18.
- Replaced the leftover pH7CMS to pH7Builder URL. Rebranding the software to pH7Builder started surely but slowly a few years ago, in order to eliminate the “CMS” reference since the software is much more than just a social/dating CMS. The “CMS” word in the name was also leading to some sorts of confusion and was compared to something like Joomla or Drupal. This last renaming as well as the use of the new domain name (ph7builder.com instead of ph7cms.com) is one of the very last steps of the rebranding 🎉 Great achievement!

What's next now?
The next big one will be v18. I can't wait to talk to you more about it soon. It will require at least PHP 8 (as v18 will start using PHP 8 union types), and will also include the "built-in auto-update" feature.
