Ideas for carrying on/next steps
- Work out toolbox, collecting collective experience from the group
Examples of tools
- WWF Canada Watershed reports
- LAWA New Zealand
- AquaExplorer
- ANA WQ Dashboard
- WQ Platform Bogota,Colombia
- Stiemer lab
- CNEMC Water quality indicators, China
- Chesapeake Bay Dashboard
- Challenge is not unique to participants, it's widespread issue
- We can do better in bringing data to action, many people face the same issues but they are not being tackled although we have good examples how to
- Interpret the data into plain language easily understandable
- Importance of combining natural science with socio-economic data (costs of inaction)
- Start with the audience, not with the data
- What is important for the stakeholder / solution implementer? You have to change your perspective
- For next hackathon we need a wider mix of experts (social scientists)
- Make better use of existing data, collecting new data in not always the solution
- Webinar to collect solutions form around the world to be integrated into the toolbox (lightning talks) => WWQA
- Webinar to test the framework with people
- Collect and share more tools/examples (working and not)
- Peer-reviewed journal publication on generic framework
- Promotion through Social Media, starting from Challenge participants
- Make a storymap out of the challenge => WWQH
- Outreach through citizen platforms
- Share the outout on the WWQH, make it open for testing
- Invite feedback
- Tap into the WWQA
