Changes proposed in this Pull Request

Hi,
I have prepared a draft for the adjustments to transition of the project to pypsa-earth. Before this PR I was working on the merged project and doing the adjustments there but that method was not allowing us to check whether CI is working. So I tried my best to make the adjustments on pypsa-distribution first, some of them has worked and some of them has given me errors in the workflow run, that is why it has taken a bit time to solve the issues and I am sorry for not making it in time. However, I believe these changes could help to relieve conflict errors between the two project mostly but we still need to try and see the results :). Thank you for all the support.

Bests.
