Live Site: https://crick-in-ph-seo.vercel.app/
I built this project to explore how a niche sport like cricket can grow organically in a country where it is still developing.
The focus is not just content — it is how content, structure, and intent work together to drive visibility, engagement, and potential commercial outcomes.
This site is structured as a content and commerce hybrid:
- Educational guides for beginners
- Location-based discovery (where to play)
- Community and clubs
- Product-focused pages for cricket gear
Instead of writing random articles, I mapped keywords based on intent:
- Informational → learning cricket
- Navigational → clubs and locations
- Commercial → gear and equipment
- Comparison → tape ball vs hard ball
Each page is built around a specific intent cluster.
The site follows a hub-style structure:
- Core guide → Cricket in the Philippines
- Supporting pages → getting started, locations, clubs
- Commercial layer → gear, bats, balls, kits
This allows internal linking to reinforce topic authority.
Instead of targeting single keywords, I grouped related queries:
Example:
- "cricket in philippines"
- "is cricket popular in philippines"
- "how to play cricket philippines"
All mapped into a single structured page.
Pages are connected intentionally:
- Guides → link to gear pages
- Comparison pages → link to both learning and product pages
- Gear pages → link back to use cases
This improves:
- crawlability
- time on site
- conversion pathways
I added product-focused pages such as:
- Cricket gear in the Philippines
- Cricket bats
- Cricket balls
- Beginner kits
These pages target buying intent and connect informational traffic to commercial pages.
- Clean URL structure
- Metadata per page
- Sitemap generation
- Robots configuration
- Fast-loading static pages
Content is written to feel natural and useful:
- No filler
- Clear sections
- Direct answers to real questions
- Structured for readability and scanning
- cricket in philippines
- cricket philippines clubs
- where to play cricket philippines
- how to play cricket for beginners philippines
- cricket rules philippines
- tape ball vs hard ball cricket
- cricket gear philippines
- cricket bat philippines
- cricket ball philippines
- beginner cricket kit philippines
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- App Router
- Static generation
I wanted to move beyond basic web development and build something closer to how real websites are structured for growth.
This project reflects how I think about:
- search visibility
- content strategy
- user pathways
- and business-driven SEO
- Add structured data (FAQ, Product schema)
- Expand location-based pages (city-level SEO)
- Add real product integrations
- Implement analytics tracking (GA4, events)
