This repository contains digital content for the "A Welcome to USA Citizenship" booklet that was provided to people becoming naturalized citizens. The initial content is from the 1956 revision and other verions are being added to understnd how the booket changed over time.
The plan is to provide markdown (text) versions that can be easily copied and pasted into other content, as well as scanned or photo images of the pages.
The work to digitize the documents began on March 1, 2025. Perhaps the information in the booklet provides useful insight for today.
The organization and format of this material may change over time.
There is currently no license. The original version was published by the Federal Government and is therefore public domain.

This booklet was acquired on EBay and looks like a copy of an original. The content is mostly the same as the 1956 booklet, with only the title page and letters from the President and Attorney General being different. Therefore, most of the links below references the 1956 version.

This booklet is an original family heirloom that includes signatures at the back from the presiding judge, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and members of the Benevolent Order of the Elks.
The end page says "U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE: 1956 O--381479".
