Glossa

Glossa is a translation workspace experiment. It is built to help teams collaborate on adapting structured biblical resources into vernacular languages using AI-assisted drafting, grounded source material, and structural integrity checks.

Phase 1 (Current)

Phase 1 is an internal proof-of-concept with a Malayalam team producing Flora, Fauna, and Realia resource adaptations. The goal is to validate the core workflow and demonstrate that Glossa can replace manual collaboration tools (like Google Sheets) with a more reliable system.

Target: Working system in 15 days using AI-assisted programming.

What Phase 1 Will Do

  • Import structured English source resources (Flora, Fauna, Realia)
  • Allow translators to draft adaptations with AI assistance
  • Preserve structural integrity and required metadata (Bible references, cross-references, protected tokens)
  • Validate output automatically before publication
  • Publish completed entries to a public site immediately
  • Track all work with full audit history and bypass recording
  • Serve public readers with localized content (or English fallback for incomplete work)

Phase 2 Vision (Future)

If Phase 1 validates the approach, Phase 2 would be a managed service platform for external organizations (Bible translation agencies, theological institutions, church networks) to produce resources in their own languages and contexts.

Product Principles

  1. Quality is built in — Validation is part of the workflow, not a final check.
  2. Structure first — Content structure is preserved from source to output.
  3. Grounded, not generated — All content derives from vetted source material.
  4. Explicit roles — Collaboration paths and approval authority are clear.
  5. Incremental — Small, verified steps over broad speculation.
