Michelin guide restaurants in Vancouver

This project tells a data-driven story about Michelin-recognized restaurants in Vancouver, focusing on how prestige, pricing, public perception, and longevity intersect in one of Canada’s most competitive dining scenes.

Rather than treating Michelin restaurants as a monolith, the dashboard explores which restaurants sustain recognition over time, how they are perceived by the public and how these signals vary across geography and price tiers.

Limitations

• Some Michelin restaurants do not have Yelp star ratings.
• Despite attempts to match Michelin restaurant names with Yelp business records, gaps remain because:
• Yelp business dataset only includes data up to early 2021. Newer Michelin restaurants may not exist in the Yelp snapshot
