Hi Other Ian - Found your blog posting for this (which was great) and I share much of the experience you did having gone through the same stuff in early days of Spring Boot. I figured your demo was worth bringing up to date, so I did - also fun to see it on the internets (http://spring-stomp-chat.herokuapp.com/).
