Since Fire Emblem Engage was made with the Unity game engine, we can use the Unity Editor to help make our modding easier.
If you are unfamiliar with Unity, you can check out a general tutorial for it here.
- Create a Unity account (free) here.
- Download and install the Unity Hub at this link.
- Install the Unity Editor. For compatibility reasons, you must use Unity
2020.03.18f1, which is the version that Fire Emblem Engage uses.
To download it, visit this page, pick the manual installer for your operating system.
- Install the
Android Build Supportcomponent that's also available on the page. Make sure to pick the one for your operation system.
This guide is written with the assumption that you have downloaded and installed the editor and the Android component, alongside Unity Hub.
Head to the following repository and follow the installation instructions in the README at the bottom of the front page.
The template includes community-made tools to help make modding Engage easier. It also comes with some pre-created assets that you can inspect to see how Engage models are set up.
