Spawn points define locations where objects may spawn dynamically. Each spawn point (which is located in a specific cell) contains a list of object types (enemy configurations) that it will spawn, in order, and repeated indefinitely.

Each spawn point also contains a pair of 32-bit bitmasks which determine on which "beats" of the gameplay that spawn point will spawn the next item in its spawn list. The first mask is used for the first 32 beats of gameplay (phase 0) after which the second mask (phase 1) is used and repeated for the remainder of the level.

Spawn points can be destroyed by Dana by collecting the Hourglass of Alexis.

Spawn points can also be activated by a spell, regardless of their timings masks.

Spawn points are invisible and are usually placed in tandem with the mirror (05) item to prevent Dana from blocking the spawn point.

Spawn points also have a TTL value associated which determines how long demonheads and salamanders will live before disappearing.
